About

The directory of free places to work from.

85 places in 11 cities, scouted and kept up to date by the people who work there.

What is Coworker Malin?

Coworker Malin is a community directory of places where you can open your laptop without paying for a coworking space: cafes, libraries, hotel lobbies, third places. The site currently lists 85 places in 11 cities, including Paris, Marseille, Lyon, Bordeaux and Lille.

What “free” means here

The directory is about places where you work without paying for a coworking desk. Most only expect you to order something; others, like libraries, expect nothing. A few paid addresses are listed too. Each page says so upfront: “Free, no purchase”, “Purchase required” or “Paid”.

What a page tells you

A page answers the questions you ask yourself before heading out to work: are laptops welcome, tolerated or frowned upon; does the wifi hold up all day; are there power sockets; can you take a call; when does the room fill up. Then come the address, the opening hours and members' reviews.

Where the information comes from

From two sources, always told apart on the page. The Coworker Malin scouting is a summary of the public reviews left online about the place, read only from the angle of working there. Members' answers come from people who have worked there: when one of them confirms a piece of information, the page marks it as verified on site.

Places added by members are moderated, and information that is no longer true can be reported from the page.

Who is behind it

Coworker Malin is created and designed by Clément Serizay.
